Dinner party

Palm Springs is not a popular place for retirement and music festivals for no reason! It is home to a number of fun and alluring attractions that allow you to explore the surrounding area in the sunny weather year-round. Palm Springs has an activity for everyone, but below you will find some of our favorites.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tram

Talk about a view! When riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, you will feel like you are on top of the world in the world’s largest rotating tramcar. You can take a two-and-one-half mile long ride to view gorgeous cliffs that comprise the Chino Canyon. When you arrive at the top, you will be in the heart of the Mount Jacinto National Park. At the top, you can also find restaurants, a museum, observation decks, and various hiking trails to fuel your sense of adventure. The sky is definitely the limit with this Palm Springs attraction.

VillageFest

When was the last time you saw a street fair this exciting? Well, you can see one every Thursday at the VillageFest in downtown Palm Springs. There are over 180 vendors that attend to showcase their goods and you can find some great bargains. Come to explore shopping, eating, art and more each week. October through May, VillageFest hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and June through September hours are 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come out and support this great tradition where you can have fun like the locals do.

The Living Desert

If you are looking for a combination of a safari and botanical garden outing in one, look no further than The Living Desert in Palm Desert. Whether you are a plant lover, an animal lover, or both, The Living Desert is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser. Not only is it a fun adventure to visit, but it serves a great cause as well. Its mission is to achieve desert conservation through preservation, education, and appreciation. While you’re here, you can also purchase tours and packages to enhance your visit experience.

Palm Desert Food & Wine Festival

If there is one event that you should plan on attending at least once, it is the Palm Desert Food & Wine Festival. Like Julia Childs once said, “People who love to eat are always the best people” and that is definitely true at this festival. This three-day event attracts greats from the food industry – chefs, vintners, and brewers. Good food and wine are to be had, so eat, drink, and be merry at this unique food and wine festival in the desert.

Visit Joshua Tree National Park

If you are looking to escape and get a little rest and relaxation by being in nature, head out to Joshua Tree National Park. At Joshua Tree National Park, the Mojave and Colorado desert ecosystems meet to create a picturesque, natural spectacle. Various plants and animals call this beautiful place home and you have the opportunity to explore without limits. If you want to stay a couple of nights, you can even plan to camp at one of Joshua Tree’s developed campgrounds. Spend some time soaking in nature and leaving the stress of life behind.
