A young 15 year-old lad decided one summer that he would make his parents proud of him and instead of lying around on the couch all vacation, he would go out and get a job. He answered an ad in the local paper that said: ”Wanted….young man to work steady throughout the summer. Please report to 1230 Main Street tomorrow morning at 8:00 am and BE PROMPT!”

The young exuberant lad reported to the location at 7:30 am to find a line of 20 other young boys waiting to see the person in charge of hiring. He realized that these young boys were possibly as talented as him and he would not get the job as he was the 21st boy in line. He had to think out of the box, so he took a piece of paper and wrote a short note to the boss and handed it to the secretary. The secretary read the note, smiled and took it immediately to the boss. The boss read the note, looked up and smiled, for this is what the note said: “Dear Sir, I am the 21st boy in line. Don’t Do Anything Until You Talk To Me.”
